Partner with us
We work with manufacturers and retailers in hearing care, and the terms below are not negotiable, so it saves everybody time to put them first.
What we will not do, at any price
- Sell a placement in a roundup. Our picks are chosen on published specifications, regulatory classification and owner review consensus. They are not for sale, and a roundup where they were would be worth nothing to a reader or to you.
- Publish a claim about how much a device improves hearing. That is an outcome about a person rather than a property of a product, and we will not repeat it even when a manufacturer states it.
- Describe a personal sound amplifier as a hearing aid. An over the counter hearing aid is an FDA regulated medical device and a PSAP is not. We carry both, clearly separated, and we will not blur them.
- Say we tested something. We research from published specifications and owner review consensus. We do not test hearing devices in person and we will not claim to.
- Print a specification a manufacturer does not publish. If you cannot supply a figure on the record, we leave the row out rather than estimating it.
- Review a page before publication. Nobody sees a page in advance.
What we will consider
- Correcting a specification. If we have a published figure wrong, tell us and we will fix it quickly. This is genuinely the most valuable thing a manufacturer can send us.
- Adding a product we have missed. We currently carry 118 products. If you make an FDA regulated over the counter hearing aid, or an accessory, that is not here and should be, send the specification sheet and the product listing.
- Affiliate programmes outside Amazon, where the product is one we would recommend regardless.
- Media and press enquiries, and requests to cite our reference charts.
About the audience
Readers arrive on reference questions rather than on product searches: what a decibel level means, what a hearing level in decibels is called, how to read an audiogram, which battery a device takes. They skew older, they are researching a considered purchase, and a large share of them are adult children helping a parent. The site is built for that audience deliberately, from the base font size upward.
Specification corrections, products we have missed, affiliate programmes and media enquiries.
We cannot answer questions about your own hearing, recommend a device for a specific person, or interpret an audiogram. Those are questions for a licensed audiologist or physician, and answering them from an inbox would be worse than not answering them at all.
